One of our main inspirations when creating our trailer is 'Your Next' because of this we decided to recreate some of the props and scenes from the trailer so we could get a feel for creating our own trailer.
YOU'RE NEXT
The animal masks are worn by the 3 hitmen, hired to kill the members of the family as part of an inheritance scheme. The masks dehumanise the killers adding to their inner animal iconography; their disguises add to this unknown air of ambiguity that parallels the protagonists with the audience, allowing for a much easier suspension of disbelief on the viewers part and a much easier effort on the filmmakers behalf to scare you.
This is the set of the scene where the protagonist crawls underneath the table, we set this up using tables and blankets in the drama studio of our school taking advantage of our lighting.
We tried to position the actress (Gabby) in the same position as the protagonist in that scene of 'You're Next'.
We compared the two to ensure that they are as similar as possible factoring in our budget.
These masks were purchased by Emma from Ebay for us to use in recreating the trailer. The three antagonists wore similar masks to add a layer of mystery.
The Sheep was painted using acrylic paint, the first layer of paint was dark brown and the second layer was mixed with white so it would look lighter.
The Wolf was painted using acrylic paint and only had one layer of brown and pink paint, due to the lack of colour in the original.
The Tiger was painted acrylic paint and had 3 layers of paint due to the different shades used and the mouth which had 3 different colours.
These were the finished products.
